Subjects are overrated. [Oct. 14th, 2007|08:08 pm]
[Current Mood | calm]
[Current Music |Belle & Sebastian - Me and the Major]

Well, building upon the previous post, I got my RAZR. It's a neat phone. It does a lot, and it's small. Chris wants my old one, so I'll see if I can get it set up with him.

I've spent my whole weekend with my friends. On Thursday, Ethan, Rob, and I all went to Chrisario's for dinner. I got my television. On Friday, I believe that Chris came over. On Saturday, I went to Rob's house with Chris. Today, I went biking with Ethan and Chris.

I finished my homework just an hour ago: a 250 word newspaper article about Capulet's party in Romeo and Juliet. I finished it with 273 words.

I also cannot believe that Jake shaved his head for this phone. He really got ripped off by his dad. Sure, it has an FM transmitter, but my RAZR is so much better, and I was forced to get it. Plus his sister can't get a cell phone until she's 14. But that's another household, and all I can do is send my sympathies.

On Tuesday, Cogeco will come here and install our internet, television, and phone services. I don't think my sympatico email address will work after that, so I backed up my MSN contacts in case of moving to an old account.

Cell Phones [Oct. 13th, 2007|11:38 am]
[Current Mood | okay]
[Current Music |Lemon Demon - Word Dissasociation]

Well, now I'm off to the Rogers store in less than an hour to pick up a new cell phone. I don't exactly need one, it's just that I have to get a new one. I like my blackberry ripoff, though...

Anyway, the phone I decided on was the Motorola RAZR V3i. I like the phone, it's cheap, and it's the opposite of the old one: it's an extremely thin, small phone.

So, yeah.

Good news all around! [Oct. 9th, 2007|05:04 pm]
[Current Mood | amused]
[Current Music |Naked Eyes - Always Something There To Remind Me]

I presented my Oral Report to the class today. They took it well, to my surprise. People actually laughed (and I'm pretty sure not at me, either!).

It was also a PM schedule day today, so all the periods were cut by twenty minutes. It's also a four day week.

Science was easy, like normal. I got a 96 on the first test.

I had a Tech test today, and I'm pretty sure I aced that, too.

I have a Religion test tomorrow, and it's on so many things. But tomorrow's the release date of the Orange Box, so nothing can make that day go sour.

Apparently "Take your kid to work day" is on November 7th. I have no clue who I'm going with. If I go with Dad, I get up at 5am and sit in a truck all day. If I go with Mom, I sleep in for an extra half hour, and sit in an Ikea office all day.

I have a video game club meeting on Thursday, to end it off.

The Orange Box [Oct. 5th, 2007|11:15 pm]
[Current Mood | chipper]
[Current Music |Polysics - New Wave Jacket]

I can't wait for October 10th. I pre-ordered The Orange Box a few days ago on Steam. I'm dying to play Portal.

Anyway, I have a 5 minute Oral Report to do for Tuesday. I'm 4m 30s done. I don't know what else to put in, though...

Birthday stuffs. [Sep. 30th, 2007|09:49 pm]
[Current Mood | blah]
[Current Music |They Might Be Giants - Experimental Film]

I went to my grandpa's house today. As I woke up, Rob called and asked if I wanted to go to paintball. I declined; I was tired of it, even though I only played once. Moving on.

I went there in my new navy blue sweater vest! For some reason the same company that made my glasses (Chaps) made the vest. Nobody treated me differently or anything. I think my mother was expecting people to point and laugh. A vest is normal. It's not like I'm dressed in a clown outfit or anything.

Anyway, for dinner we had rigatoni, meat drenched in the rigatoni sauce, and salad(purely tomatoes, onions, peppers, and a bit of parsley). We also had meat from the barbecue, but I didn't have too much of it.

When all was said and done, I came home with two new vests (one of which was a sweater vest) from my grandfather, and around $200 from my aunts and grandfather.

In a school-related topic, I have to study for a science test tomorrow. Man, I love science class. I hate my colleagues in the class though. All they do is talk. The work and notes in class take only 10-30 minutes altogether(the class is an hour and twenty minutes), but with them talking it takes the whole class. Especially Friday's "Jeopardy" test review class. The class was split in two, and for some reason my side had the retards.

"How many elements are in H2SO4?"
"Two hundred fifty-nine!"
"No, incorrect."

Y'see, I'm not very good at quick thinking. I often mediate, so the retards in the back shouted nonsense and ended up costing us the whole game. I have a feeling I'm going to ace this test if these people are the "applied demographic".

(no subject) [Sep. 29th, 2007|08:23 pm]
[Current Mood | blah]
[Current Music |Logan Whitehurst & The Jr. Science Club - A Bad Day at the Gangster-Operated Mom-and-Pop Shop]

Well, last night I slept over at Chris' place. We played Halo 3 and I went to sleep around 1am. I woke up around 3am because his dad's phone was going off. I grabbed it and gave it to his dad, who was sleeping. I then went back to bed and woke up around 9:15am.

Afterward, Rob and Giancarlo came over and we all played Halo 3's Forge mode. I have a tendency to place teleporters everywhere, and this makes for a most exciting match, for you may kill someone and the recoil will send you to the other side of the map.

Anyway, I was dropped off at home by 1pm and I forcibly went to the mall with my parents and sisters. I "purchased" two pairs of jeans and a pair of shoes. But the greatest asset yet was, of course, the sweater vest. It looks awesome on me. :D

Teletoon [Sep. 20th, 2007|05:06 pm]
[Current Mood | blah]
[Current Music |Logan Whitehurst & The Jr. Science Club - Bonebeard, the Dinosaur Pirate from Space]

I miss the old Teletoon. The one with the smiley face in it. The one that showed cartoons without dialogue. The Teletoon that had commercials without dialogue.

Basically, the Teletoon from my youth.

They used to show Untalkative Bunny and Fly Tales, that kind of stuff. Now it's Bratz this, 6teen that, I hate the cartoons of today. They've forgotten the small child demographic. Now all they want to do is appeal to pre-teens. Who cares about preteens? Moreso, do any sixteen year olds actually watch 6teen?

Anyway, I've homework. It's Religion. I have to write about someone who's ugly and talk about how they're beautiful. Essentially, I have to write a page of lying. God, I hate Religion. It's my hardest subject, and I am not joking. I get the worst grades in it and I get the most homework from it. I have 4 years of this, too. I can't come up with anything for the homework, either. I started with some crap about a wheelchaired kid named "Tommy" but it sounded too cheesy so I trashed it. I was thinking of making someone named "Oaf" who spends his days sitting in a corner chewing on his boogers, and how he's really beautiful inside, but it sounded way too much like satire so I trashed that too.

I have no ideas. Maybe I can hand this in. How I'm really beautiful inside when you get to know me, and I'll cry in front of everyone like some attention whore.

On review, The Catcher in the Rye's sticking to my mind. I'm calling stuff "phony" and writing like Holden, so excuse me.

High School: The First Week [Sep. 9th, 2007|08:17 pm]
[Current Mood | sore]
[Current Music |They Might Be Giants - Man, It's So Loud in Here]

A week has gone by since I first started high school.

The first day was tough. I was tired and barely made it home concious. Same with every day until Thursday, in which I actually slept at 12am. The classes themselves aren't that hard. The only assignment I have now is due the 8th of October, and that's just 400 words and a 5 minute oral presentation.

Today, I went to the fair. I bought Bawls, and many puns insued. If you're interested, it's an energy drink. I bought another one for tomorrow mornng.

So yeah, summaries rock!

Normal day [Aug. 22nd, 2007|09:30 pm]
[Current Mood | satisfied]
[Current Music |Belle and Sebastian - I Took a Long Hard Look]

Last night I had another strange dream. I dreamed that the mutant spider I saw in my basement(it's a big black one) was on Adriana's computer desk. I was at the doorway to her room, looking at it. It motioned with one of its legs to "come over here". I told Adriana it was in there and she grabbed a shoe and killed it.

Today I woke up at 12:00 again. I remember walking across the room, turning off the alarm at 9, then going back to bed. Apparently even out of arm's reach the alarm is not a foolproof way to wake up on time. Perhaps if I was up for 24 hours and went to bed at a reasonable time I'd start using that cycle instead. You never know.

Anyway, I still have a good $5 in my iTunes account. No clue what to get. I just download the popular stuff off of Frostwire and download the unpopular stuff legally. Unfortunately the majority of songs on iTunes are mainstream.

Anyway, I had pizza for lunch. Why is this relevant? For some reason, pizza(at least pizza from Two For One) gives me horrible craps. I mean, I spent half an hour in the bathroom wondering why my stomach was aching me so.

Around 7pm I biked with Robbie up the hill. Around where the school is he said he didn't feel like going all the way and so we split up from there. I ended up reaching the very top of the hill. I enjoyed the ride down so much I biked back up again. By the time I got home my back was drenched. All I had the whole trip was half a bottle of water. Who knew you could bike 3km(1/3 of which was on a steep incline) on such little resources?

Anyway, I should probably wrap up this entry. I just noticed most of these paragraphs start with the word "anyway". I should stop being so redundant.

School's creeping up on me [Aug. 20th, 2007|03:29 am]
[Current Mood | mellow]
[Current Music |Belle and Sebastian - Seymour Stein(in my head)]

Well, in a week it's orientation day. I find my classes, I get my books, I get my pants. Did I mention it's late at night? Yeah, I have this problem.

I'm nocturnal. I'm more creative at night, I can think clearer, and I'm more calm. So is it any surprise that it took one day to change my biological clock, but now it's taking weeks to change it back?

Currently I've moved my alarm clock out of arms reach. I set it for 9am and it'll go gradually earlier as the days go by.

Anyway, I'm currently annoyed by today's music. Yeah, that's the usual. Mainly it's just Fergie and that annoying country singer from American Idol. Yeah, those two combined make up the most annoying songs on Earth. Soon they'll make a duet about how they can't get serenity now so they took their key and damaged their ex-boyfriend's property.

That reminds me. I think I know how the average 8th grader's music taste varies. Here, I'll separate it in categories:

  1. The "old school rocker" kind of person. They listen to the old stuff. You know, Supertramp, The Smiths, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, if it's pre-90s, they like it.
  2. Rap followers. I'm not talking Akon. I'm talking about the hardcore stuff. Living on the streets kind of beats. You know what I'm sayin'?
  3. Pop lovers. I hate these people. They love the newest hit and they're not afraid to share their taste with other people. A good example is "Smack That". I heard that so, so, so, so many times.
  4. Goth/emo people who don't think they listen to goth/emo. "Yeah, I like My Chemical Romance, but they're not emo anymore." These people are in serious denial.
  5. Indie people. I fall into this category. If nobody's heard of it, they like it. If a band is popular, they stray away. They will listen to mainstream stuff as long as it's from another continent, and only then can they bear it. These people are usually the kind of people who keep to themselves.
  6. So called "punk" lovers. I mean, who doesn't love The Veronicas? Billy Talent? It's not like they suck or anything. No way...

That about sums it up. I haven't updated in two weeks, so I made a rather large one. Expect more frequent updates as school kicks into gear. Here comes initiation right around the corner...

Haircut [Aug. 7th, 2007|04:35 pm]
[Current Mood | cold]
[Current Music |New Order - Bizarre Love Triangle]

For the first time in ages, I've decided to get a haircut. What finer day to do so.

Previously today, it had been pouring lightly. Nothing to worry about. Around an hour ago it had stopped completely. I departed.

As I biked uptown, it started to pour slowly. I thought, "Nothing to worry about, just some drops of water."

I arrived at the barbershop to an empty room. I sat down for a few minutes. He walked in from a room in the back.

So, time goes on, I get my haircut, pay the $10.50. I take my helmet and leave.

It was the biggest downpour all day.

Rain was coming down in blankets. I ran to my bike and sped quickly home.

Water flew everywhere. I could barely see through the raindrops. I sped through puddles, somehow maintaining a grip on the peddles. I arrived home some few minutes later, soaked.

On the upside, my hair's cut.

Weekly update! [Jul. 24th, 2007|01:52 am]
[Current Mood | calm]
[Current Music |Grim Fandango - Scrimshaw]

Tww of my favourite things have collided: it's raining...at night! I love the smell of it. Night has this peculiar smell, as does rain. They smell great together.

Anyway, in the past week, Chris has come over nearly daily. His laptop was fixed last Friday and either today or Wednesday he's supposed to come over(at least, that's what I think).

Summer is sleepy. [Jul. 18th, 2007|11:42 pm]
[Current Mood | indifferent]
[Current Music |Smash Mouth - Walking On The Sun]

You may be wondering why I rarely update nowadays.

That is because summer is uneventful. Would you like to read "nothing happened today" everyday?

I wouldn't have it any other way, though.

Summer is underway [Jul. 10th, 2007|08:41 pm]
[Current Mood | good]

Well, lately I've been doing the same thing. Go to bed at 4, wake up at 1, eat, go on computer, repeat. Chris comes over on a semi-daily basis. All is going well.

More games? [Jul. 4th, 2007|03:32 pm]
Well, I have returned from EB Games. I spent $116. What did I buy, you probably didn't ask? I bought the following:

  1. Guild Wars Nightfall Pre-Release Disc - $3
  2. Battlefield 2 - $20
  3. World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade - $40
  4. World of Warcraft Game Card - $40
  5. Tax - $14

Okay, so maybe I didn't buy the tax, but I still got a lot of stuff.

Summer. [Jul. 1st, 2007|02:57 pm]
[Current Mood | content]
[Current Music |Belle & Sebastian - The Blues Are Still Blue]

A couple of days into summer and all's well. Waking up around 12pm daily and going to bed around 4am. I've biked to Grimsby twice since school's out. Only Chris and I are home each day. Soon it'll just be me alone--he's going to summer school come Tuesday. Next week I think I'll be home alone for a while.

Today we're going to my grandpa's for dinner. We're probably going to be eating meat, like usual, but that doesn't bother me.

Okay, so I lied. [Jun. 27th, 2007|01:13 pm]
[Current Mood | chipper]
[Current Music |Belle & Sebastian - Act of the Apostle Part 1]

Well, I didn't update last night. So I'll recap it.

We had a nice mass, then we had awards(which I won nothing). The dinner consisted of bread, potatoes, carrots and chicken cutlets. The dance happened immediately after. I spent most of my time by the punch bowl but I spent some time in the dance floor doing the Carlton dance badly.

After the dance we returned home and I went to bed.

Today, I woke up around 10 and cooked eggs. They didn't come out very well today. I think I used a bad pan. In two hours, I'll be on the lookout for Lu returning from her last day at school.

Damn. Now I'm bored.
